This fall, the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art is home to a stunning traveling exhibition exploring one of the world's most iconic garments. KIMONO: Garment, Canvas, and Artistic Muse traces the Japanese kimono through over 1,000 years of history — as a canvas for exquisite textile artistry, as a muse for Western painters and fashion designers, and as inspiration for contemporary artists working in painting, sculpture, fiber, glass, and ceramics. Ten international artists are represented in the exhibition, making it one of the most globally reaching shows to visit Laurel in recent memory.
