LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) - The Diamond Youth Softball World Series started Thursday at Laurel Sportsplex.
While every team is looking to bring home the gold, the city of Laurel is hoping to bring in as much revenue and exposure as they can.
“The weather has been hot. The ball playing has been great. We’ve had a lot of people here,” said Elvin Ulmer, Parks and Recreation Director.
Dozens of teams, hundreds of plays, and thousands of people all poured into Laurel this weekend.
