Navigating the Construction Zone

Construction has expanded and currently spans three blocks of our historic district. While the scenery is changing, the hospitality remains the same.

Road Closures & Detours:

  • Central Avenue: The 2-block section from Spec Wilson Boulevard to N 5th Ave is closed to vehicle traffic. The roundabout at Central Ave. and N 5th Ave. is open.
  • Magnolia Street: This block (home to Café la Fleur, Pearl’s Diner, and more) is currently open but may experience intermittent closures.

The Magnolia Street Block

While this block is currently open, access can change from time to time. Please continue to support these local favorites:

Where to Park

Large parking lots are located within 1-2 blocks of all of the affected zones. There is one behind Mimmo’s and the Rusty Chandelier, easily accessible from Carroll Gartin Blvd., Magnolia St. and Spec Wilson Blvd. There are other large lots near the Library, accessible from Commerce St. as you approach Central Ave., and also on Front St., accessible from Oak St.

Pedestrians: All sidewalks remain open! While some walkways may be narrowed or fenced near active work zones, you can still stroll through downtown and reach every storefront with ease.
